The last unit we did was the Introduction to chemistry unit. chemestry is used in a lot of things, including Forensic science (the unit that we are working on right now) Chemestry is made up of these things: Matter- Anything that has volume and mass, takes up space Atom- Smallest particle an elementcan be broken down into, smallest particle known to man Element- A pure substance that can't be broken up chemically of physically Pure Substance- Only consisting of 2 types of particles (atoms) Periodic Table- The chart which orders every element known to man (259) by the Atomic Number (a.k.a. number of protons in atom) of the element ranging from Hydrogen to Nobelium.
Everything and everyone around us is amde up of matter, even air. There are also man made Elements, those are the ones at the bottom of this table below:
